About us

NATURAL MATERIALS. IMAGINATIVE PLAY
Curated Steiner Resources for a Nurtured Childhood

Grassroots Eco Store is a thoughtfully curated online destination for Steiner / Waldorf-inspired resources, eco toys, beautiful books, arts and craft materials and natural bodycare.

Every product is carefully chosen for its natural materials, quality, sustainability and alignment with Steiner principles. We champion products that spark creativity, nourish the imagination, create a connection to the natural world and preserve a sense of childhood wonder.

About Taryn

Grassroots Eco Store is owned and curated by Taryn, and the story behind it goes back a long way.

Taryn attended a Sydney Steiner school from Kindy to Year 12. She knows what it feels like to grow up learning through the seasonal rhythms of the year, making things with her hands, learning through storytelling and creating beautiful hand-illustrated Main Lesson Books to document everything learned. When her own children started at a Steiner school, that world came back to life in the most wonderful way.

A Fine Arts and Graphic Design graduate, Taryn spent years working as a designer at one of Australia's largest book publishers, developing a deep and lasting love of children's books and a strong belief that beautifully made, imaginative stories have a lasting place in a child's world. That eye for quality, beauty and intention shapes everything at Grassroots.

Every product in this store has been chosen by someone who has lived this world from childhood, raised children within it and thought carefully about what belongs here.
