From the Southern Swan First Aid Range, Arnica ointment is a treatment for bruises, strains and stiff aching muscles.

Use externally for both superficial and deep bruises, sprains and strains, pulled muscles, stiff aching muscles, strained back. 

Do not use on broken skin.
